Company visit: Denso

Last Thursday we went to the Denso automotive center of Aken. First we got a comprehensive presentation about the Denso as a company, the technology they use and develop and the working atmosphere at Denso. Before and after the presentation we got a delicious lunch including a bunch of filled wraps. After the presentation we got a tour around the campus. There were a lot of test benches for diesel engines and all sorts of tests were executed. We also saw the test track and gas station to execute even more tests. Around three o’clock we headed back to Eindhoven.

Committee Battles

Each year, the Board of the Association gets help of around 25 to 30 committees. All the active members of the Association are participating in these committees voluntarily. To thank everyone multiple activities are organized and the first one took place last Monday: the first Committee Battles! With 12 committees and 64 people attending, the BattleCie organized an après-ski themed pubquiz. Six rounds and a few beers later the Symposium committee won the first battle, followed up by the Extraordinary Activities committee. Having proven their quiz-skills, these two committees will have the honor to represent Mechanical Engineering at the TU/e Mega Quiz in December.

Saint Nicholas

Last week Saint Nicholas arrived in the Netherlands. Last year Saint Nicolas visited the Simonkamer and rewarded all the well behaved students who made beautiful shoes. This year we hope he will visit the Simonkamer again. If you are curious if the Saint thinks you’re a brave student, make a beautiful shoe and maybe you will be rewarded for it.

Happy New Quartile!

After two weeks of difficult exams the second quartile of the year has begun! To start off this new quartile as good as possible, you need some new stuff of course. For free pens, free notepads or a free cup of coffee or tea during a study break, you are always welcome in the Simonkamer, Gemini-Noord 1.61. If you have not ordered your books yet, make sure to do this at our website. For leisure or career activities, pay a visit to our events-page. Happy new quartile to everyone!
