In this lecture, I will take you through my journey from studying Mechanical Engineering at the TU/e to contributing to advanced logistics technology at Vanderlande, exploring how mechanical R&D, system design, and model-based engineering converge to enhance automated equipment across airports, warehouses, and distribution centers.
We will look at practical examples of vibration analysis, dynamic modeling, and simulation, demonstrating how engineering insights improve system performance. Along the way, I will highlight how multidisciplinary collaboration—spanning mechanical, electrical, and software engineering—enables innovation in complex material-handling systems.
You will also gain insight into the varied projects and design challenges involved in creating next‑generation logistics solutions. Finally, I will share what it’s like to work at Vanderlande and the diverse career opportunities available within a global, technology-driven organization.
