Rijkswaterstaat is the executive organization of the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management and is responsible for the management and maintenance of the Netherlands’ main roads, waterways, and water systems. Its goal is to keep the Netherlands safe, liveable, and accessible, among other things by preventing flooding and improving mobility. In addition, Rijkswaterstaat works on sustainable solutions for infrastructure, water management, and the protection of the living environment.
During this lunch lecture, Sebastiaan Thaens and Sander Visser will share what it is like to work as a trainee with a mechanical engineering background within this large organization. Based on their own experiences and projects, they will provide an insight into the diverse work carried out by Rijkswaterstaat and the different roles you can take on within the organization.
